The Swiss Magnum photographer Werner Bischof ( –) ranks among the greatest photographers of the 20th century. A master of black-and-white photography, he created an extraordinary oeuvre within the span of his short life. He had already travelled halfway around the world as a photojournalist. A second slim picture book Das Auge der Liebe, self-published in through his business “Turnus”, was created in collaboration with his wife Rita Groebli who had successfully completed a specialisation in applied and visual arts under Otto Morach at the Zurich School of Applied Arts.
